Esteban’s Latest Single ‘Shanty Mansion’ available NOW!!

It’s a BRILLIANT piece of music for starters, and ALL the royalties are going to a good cause. How could I not buy it..?

I’ve been listening to it for a few weeks now, and it’s addictive – yes, I already had a copy of the track, but I still bought a new one from iTunes to show my support :D

Eighty-Eight Quid!!!

Pound NoteThe robbing #$@%£rs!!

The damage to the wiper mechanism is merely a nylon bush. As typical with today’s throwaway society, this part is not available for sale on its own. That’s a rip-off if you ask me.

Yes, I think that’s a rip-off from Nissan. Anyway, come Friday we’ll have a completely un-necessary but spanking new wiper assembly at £88 plus fitting. At least the nice guys at Broadway Garage in Burton won’t rip us off..!

The Wipers on the Car go “clunk”…

"Freundlich" Auto

It was really icy this morning at 06:15 and I’d allowed time before my weekly BNI meeting to de-ice the car. I’d hitched the trailer up the night before, so that Neil from Ultimate Sign could measure up for some magnetic signs.

After hearing about all the car-jackings on the radio, I loaded all my admin gubbins first, then started to de-ice. As soon as I turned the key to start the engine the wipers lurched and went “BANG!!”.

Bugger. I’d left them switched on intermittent from the previous evening…

There was nothing falling out of the sky, so I proceeded to my meeting, in the dark, the short distance up the well-lit A38. Then there was just the twisty turny B-road into Mickleover, which isn’t lit at all. I got a fair way along before I met an oncoming car and my windscreen turned milky!! I was going really slow anyway because I didn’t want the trailer to skip out on the icy roads, and I arrived in one piece at the Mickleover Court Hotel. Albeit with a bit of sliding in their ungritted car-park…

So, the Micra is in Broadway garage (as recommended by Muel) and I’m catching up on computery things at Café Zen, waiting for a phonecall!

Junk

Junk, originally uploaded by CraigMarston.

Photo shoot for ‘Just Junk’ in Derby. Rather than hiring a skip which you have to fill yourself, as well as neighbours filling it too, these guys come in and remove your junk for you. They take it away, and recycle it. It really is the green alternative to skip hire, and less hassle too!

It had snowed this particular morning in Derbyshire, and I thought I was going to be trapped at Mickleover after my weekly BNI meeting. We could see from top floor of the Mickleover Court Hotel that the traffic was totally jammed (as usually happens in England when there’s a bit of snow), so there was no point rushing out to the car.
It was bitterly cold all day, but the snow wasn’t as thick in Derby. Although this photo shoot is indoors, it wasn’t much warmer than outside!!

While positioning the lights, I put my foot on what I thought was a step, only for it to go through the ceiling of the shop below!! There was a change of height in the ceiling and the step was merely plasterboard – d’oh!
We did panic initially as we didn’t know if I was going to go all the way through, so I kept still and the lads pulled me up. I banged my hip on a beam, narrowly missing any nails and screws that were poking out…
Some of the guys that weren’t in this shot cleaned the mess downstairs, we made sure I wasn’t bleeding and we carried on!
